The Chinese New Year has just begun and I invite you to learn about this year’s zodiac animal, the Ram. Last year was ruled by the Horse and encouraged independence, strength, and adventure. This year of the Ram invites us instead to embrace interdependence and work with one another to spread love and compassion. Like a flock of sheep, we should encourage peacefulness by communing with one another. Perpetuating mutual respect will allow us to grow as individuals and as a society. With all the pain and selfishness in the world, we have responsibilities to encourage happiness and make a positive difference for those around us. Practice empathy and sensitivity this year. Following our passions from last year hopefully lead to great success. Following our compassion this year will lead to great peace.
Were you born in the year of the Ram? The zodiac cycle of every twelve years includes those born in 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, and of course 2015. Those born in these years are said to be sentimental and warm and possess a natural sense of harmony with their surroundings. They are wise and gentle and their polite charm brings us a feeling of calm and peace. They have a sensitivity to art and beauty.
A great gift for a baby being born this year is a lambskin rug or a fleece blanket!
